The YMCAs Child Care Program offers licensed, low cost, high quality before and after school care for elementary school age children throughout the Central Texas Community. The program is offered at 29 elementary school sites in the Killeen, Copperas Cove, and Florence School Districts, and the YMCA staff is trained to offer competent, creative, and concerned supervision. YMCA before and after school programs feature new fun experiences and personal enrichment. Homework time, arts and crafts, games, sports and story time are just part of the basic program. The program enrollment exceeds 1,700 with an average daily attendance of over 1,200 children.

$10.00 Per week non-attendance fee to retain place in program during absence

$10.00 late pick-up fee per child (Fee starts at 6:01pm and increases $10.00 per child, every 15 minutes after)

Army Afterschool Programs

Killeen Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA), in partnership with US Army Child and Youth Services,  will offer before and afterschool childcare for children of Army and DOD employees residing off-post. Army School-Age Programs In Your Neighborhood (ASPYN) will provide subsidies to Army and DOD employees based on total family income. The program is an extension of the ASYMCA’s existing childcare program which operates on 30 elementary school campuses in the Killeen, Copperas Cove, and Florence School Districts.

The ASYMCA’s afterschool program is designed to help children develop their creative abilities, learning skills, and social relationships. The staff is dedicated to the enhancement of the quality of life and safety of all participants in the program. Homework time, arts and crafts, games, sports and story time are just a part of the basic program.

Applications are available through Killeen Armed Services YMCA located at 415 N. 8th Street, Killeen, Texas 76541. Please return completed subsidy applications to Killeen Armed Services YMCA to be submitted online for processing. Along with the applications, the following documents are required:

•Leave and Earnings Statements (LES) for Services Members
•Spouse’s most recent pay stub(s) reflecting current month’s pay. If spouse is a student, please provide proof of enrollment.
•DOD employees will need to bring a copy of their current ID card.
